Position Overview
CMS1 Partners is expanding its Value-Based Care Strategy practice and is looking for a seasoned consultant to lead VBC model design, implementation, and optimization engagements. You will work directly with ACOs, IPAs, hospital systems, and physician organizations transitioning from fee-for-service to outcomes-based payment models.
This role requires deep knowledge of CMS Innovation Center programs, quality reporting requirements, and population health management strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead VBC strategy engagements including model selection, risk assessment, and transition planning
- Guide clients through MSSP ACO, Direct Contracting, REACH, and Advanced APM program participation
- Analyze quality metrics (HEDIS, MIPS, STAR ratings) and develop improvement strategies
- Build population health stratification frameworks and care gap closure workflows
- Collaborate with clients' clinical and operational teams to align VBC incentives with care delivery
- Design shared savings distribution models and gainsharing arrangements
- Monitor CMS regulatory updates and advise on compliance implications
- Prepare executive briefings, Board presentations, and program performance reports
Qualifications & Requirements
- 5+ years in value-based care consulting, health system strategy, or CMS program management
- Deep expertise in ACO, PCMH, or bundled payment models
- Proficiency with quality reporting platforms and population health analytics
- Understanding of CMS Innovation Center programs and CMMI regulations
- Strong project management capabilities across complex, multi-stakeholder engagements
- Clinical background (RN, NP, MD) or healthcare administration degree preferred
- Lean / Six Sigma certification a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range $88,000 – $100,000 commensurate with expertise
